Australian Business Events Expo Finished But Not Forgotten

The Australian Business Events Expo (ABEE) took place on 10-11 August 2011 and saw the industry come together to network and profile their latest product and service offerings at Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Hall 4 showcased the strength of the Australian business events industry. A diverse array of first-time and veteran exhibitors attracted high delegate attendance.

Business Events Sydney (BESydney) enjoyed a prime stand location in the centre of the expo and welcomed event planners, association members, corporate professionals and suppliers to discuss the Sydney event experience. Almost 250 Sydney Event Planners Guides were distributed over the two-day event.

The other major success of the expo was the hosted buyer program that was co-ordinated by BESydney and airline partner Qantas. Thirty high-profile buyers took part in the three to four-day program that incorporated ABEE, site inspections of seven unique Sydney venues, an interactive welcome event where they cooked their own dinner in a VictorsFood challenge, and a twilight Captain Cook Cruise to tour the Sydney Olympic Park venues. A select number of buyers also participated in a regional showcase in Wollongong on Friday 12 August.

Feedback from the hosted buyers was very positive. Some buyers were so impressed they ended up staying on in the city to partake in more site inspections this week!
